The Last Guardian has been in development for a very long time, with us sharing some history on the game and even reviewing the game in the past. But one question remains; what about the technology powering the title? Does the games long development cycle impact the final title through aging tech? Or does the final games technolgoy impress?
Digital Foundry takes a look into the tech that powers Last Guardian and we walk away with knowing a lot. Many things should be noted, like the AI of Trico being so life like and the various graphical effects on his body (feather movement, animal-like animations). The art direction was discussed as well, considering it mirrors past Team ICO games like ICO and Shadow of the Colossus.
The final game is a breathtaking game production value wise with it’s musical score and art direction despite very notable performance issues.
