God Eater had a big year in 2016, with two titles in the series releasing on the PS4 and PS Vita on western shores after much fan demand. With the success of both God Eater 2 Rage Burst and God Eater Resurrection, Bandai-Namco has a new title in development.

God Eater series producer Yusuke Tomizawa shared a short teaser trailer for the game, which is still without a title, platform, or release date. The text in the trailer reads, “It has been three days since I arrived at the Fenrir HQ area. Once proud Guardians of humanity, whose hope and prosperity have since gone. The fall of those called GOD starts now.”
While Tomizawa couldn’t say more, it should be noted that he was wearing a t-shirt with the number “3,” perhaps hinting the new title is “God Eater 3.”

Reported by Gematsu, a new teaser video released for a God Eater project and the producer hinted this might be a new mainline title in the series. If you enjoyed the prior titles in this series, this is great news. What I find most exciting is that this announcement is for both Western and Japanese markets. In the past, the series was locked to Japan for a long time.
But thanks to successes the series had in 2016, Bandai-Namco is making this a world-wide franchise. Considering this is an original IP they created and not a licensed product they make games for like One Piece, Dragon Ball and Sword Art Online, this is quite exciting. God Eater is now on the level that Tekken is for the publisher.
Expect 3WIREL to continue reporting on any future developments with the God Eater franchise. If you want to play a game in the series and haven’t done so already, both God Eater 2: Rage Burst and God Eater: Resurrection are out on the PlayStation Network Storefront for PS Vita & PS4 in addition to being on Steam.
