GameXplain: Hands-On With Nintendo Switch Dev Kit Discussion

GameXplain was able to get hands-on time with Yacht Club Games development kit that they used to get Shovel Knight running within two weeks for the platform. The video details impressions on how the system feels, commentary about how the Joy-Cons might not be the best for 2D platformers and other useful information.
I enjoyed watching this and while it’s disappointing to hear that the Switch isn’t the best for 2D platformers, hearing that Shovel Knight took less then 2 weeks to get up & running on Switch shows how easy it is for studios to port games to the console. Granted, Shovel Knight is a simple game in comparison to most AAA titles graphically but the ease of development is important in getting plenty of indie studios and third party developers on board for the Switch.
