During its South By Southwest panel last night, Sega revealed the name for its upcoming mainline entry in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise as Sonic Forces. The reveal was followed by a quick teaser clip showing some gameplay featuring Modern Sonic running through a European-style city as destruction rains down from above. We had a chance to see a longer version of this stage.

There was some doubt about the sales of Bomberman on the Switch since Zelda: Breath of the Wild dominated the opening sales when the Nintendo Switch got released in Japan. Fret no more as we now have reports from Media Create that Super Bomberman R has the best opening week in the franchise by a total of 36,623 total units sold since March 3rd 2017, in comparison to the previous record of Bomberman’s (Party Edition) PS1 debut of 34,945 total units in Japan, but staying second to Bomberman’s World on the PS1 by 76,801 total units. It’s currently placed at Number 6 for the highest Software bestsellers opening week in Japan.

Let’s cut to the chase and say that this would be Sony’s biggest PS4 debut title overthrowing the crown from No Man’s Sky that is a console exclusive, Horizon: Zero Dawn takes that crown, competing fiercely against Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a new established title from Guerilla Games. Eurogamer’s Tom Philips also mentions that Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s majority of sales were on the Switch, by 78%, while the Wii U only gaining 22%, in which he notes that “the latter figure perhaps higher than expected”. You can have a look at the list below:

  1. Horizon: Zero Dawn
  2. Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  3. Grand Theft Auto 5
  4. 1-2 Switch
  5. For Honor
  6. FIFA 17
  7. Super Bomberman R
  8. Rocket League
  9. Sniper Elite 4
  10. Battlefield 1

For those who just couldn’t handle the idea of waiting any further for a confirmation to have Bloodstained on the go on Nintendo’s ecosystem, look no further than the Switch confirmation obtained by Brian at Nintendo Everything. It has been revealed that the game is coming to the Switch via Nintendo’s European News feed that is viewable on the Switch hybrid itself. It was originally coming to the Wii U, but as we all know, the title won’t come until 2018, increasing the possibility of not being able to get the title on Wii U when it releases on other platforms.

You can see Bloodstained’s logo in the second to last column below, towards the middle. The graphic is similar to what was sent out a few days ago following the Nindies Showcase, but Bloodstained’s inclusion is new here.

Following up our last report regarding a release date for NieR: Automata on Steam and PS4, it has been dismissed and changed by Square Enix due to unknown circumstances, although lately discovered that the game will be released on Steam on March 17th officially due to a cached Store page on Square Enix’s Store, was confirmed fully by the support section of Square Enix as well. The picture above describes additional items for the Day One Edition on Steam that include bonus items such as: Machine Mask Accessory, Grimoire Pod, Retro Grey, Cardboard and Red Pod Skins and finally, a preorder bonus that introduces a custom Valve Character Accessory Skin for the main character. Minimum and Recommended specifications are relatively reasonable for a modern-day PC Port/Release. We can’t wait to see what NieR: Automata offers in store soon.

After the success of EA’s own EA Access subscription that was exclusive to Xbox One for a while until the launch of Origin Access, with the rise of service-based gaming subscriptions, it was not totally surprising that Microsoft would take the plunge and introduce on what they call “Xbox Game Pass”, a monthly all-access subscription that gives access to all Xbox One games that are downloadable alongside Backwards-compatible Xbox 360 titles with exclusive discount offers and other goodies available to those who subscribe and get their fix of games directly there. Partners and publishers include companies such as:

2K, 505 Games, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, Focus Home Interactive, SEGA, SNK CORPORATION, THQ Nordic GmbH, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Studios, with some of the fan-favorite titles coming to Xbox Game Pass when it launches to the broader Xbox community later this spring include Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and SoulCalibur II.

One of the best things about Xbox Game Pass is that you can discover and download the full titles directly on your Xbox One. That means continuous, full-fidelity gameplay without having to worry about streaming, bandwidth or connectivity issues

This subscription service will be coming sometime in the Spring of 2017 and Xbox Live Gold members will also be receiving “exclusive access” to Xbox Game Pass prior to launch. Microsoft will provide more on that later on.
