Sega‘s European head of brand licensing Sissel Henno has told Toys ‘n’ Playthings magazine that the company plans to release a brand new Sonic game for consoles next year. Henno also said that the developer and publisher has several new digital titles launching as well as a new boxed game.

In fact the series has not been let outside now for over eight years, not since we saw F-Zero: Climax on the Game Boy Advance, and that was Japan only! Frank Christopher Olivera, former GameStop VP of corporate communications and public affairs plead guilty Thursday to one count of mail fraud for embezzling $1,965,900 from the company. According to the federal indictment, Olivera sent payments from July 2009 through April 2011 to Cloud Communications LLC.
