Nintendo released new art work for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and if this looks familiar, don’t be surprised. It is a clear homage to the original art work that was in the first Legend of Zelda game, where Link looked out into the world from a high mountain top. It is an iconic image and seeing that replicated here indicates a few things. One thing being that this game will be similar to the size/scope of the … Read More
Resident Evil 7 is a major shift for the series, as after many games being in third person, this new horror title will instead have you play the game in first person. The producer of the project shared recently with Game Rant reasoning for this decision. “When we decided on the direction of focusing on horror, we thought that having a first-person perspective would be the most effective way to fully immerse the player in the experience. By making the player … Read More
Sonic Unleashed was something I greatly enjoyed but many might wonder the tech behind this project. From a day-night system, realistic lighting and other factors, many might want to learn about this games development. In early December, it finally happened; the Beta Build of Sonic Unleashed released. The beautiful environments based on real-life locations, fast gameplay and a unique lighting engine all housed under the “Hedgehog Engine” helped achieve a major milestone for fast-paced 3D platformers. Matches the tone/sound from the original all the while adding such a great heaviness to the track … Read More

This Sonic Team title is interesting, as it is one of the few major new IP’s they made post-SEGA becoming third party. I say this is interesting due to the fact that this game released around the time Sonic Heroes came out in JP (with its NA/EU release being early 2004). Another interesting element to this game is that unlike Heroes which runs on the Renderware Engine, Billy Hatcher runs on a modified Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Engine. Lastly, similar to … Read More
