The Kickstarter success story Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be getting a publisher.
Koji Igarashi announced via Kickstarter that Rocket League and Virginia publisher 505 Games will be stepping in to publish his upcoming crowdfunded game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. TheCastlevainia-inspired 2D action platformer raised $5.5 million in its Kickstarter campaign last year and is one of the most successful video game projects to be funded on the site to-date.
Igarashi explained that the decision to work with 505 Games arose from a desire to deliver Bloodstained to as large of an audience as possible. “Although we have started this project through Kickstarter, we wanted more people to play now that we are in full production. However, we believe this isn’t possible with our power alone.”
This means that the game will have no issue getting a retail run and that a larger number of people will be playing the game.
