We covered the story about Vivendi trying to take over Ubisoft in the past but now it seems like it might happen. Based on this link, Vivendi has a large amount of stake in Ubisoft.

The Group held at this date 24.059% of the capital and 21.296% of Ubisoft’s voting rights, based on the number of shares and voting rights declared by the video game company September 30, 2016.

The interesting part is that no one has any idea how this will impact either the developers inside Ubisoft and the us as gamers. We will likely learn by 2017 but hopefully announced projects from Ubisoft like South Park: A Fractured But Whole and Beyond Good & Evil 2 aren’t effected if Vivendi takes full control of Ubisoft.
