Developers need support from partners, more so when times are tough or if funding for a project runs out. A program is launching where this is solved for polish developers.

A recently established group of Polish developers, including CD Projekt, Techland and 11 bit has teamed up with the Polish government to fund new and emerging Polish developers. They created a $20 million fund that will co-finance projects by smaller Polish studios.  Applicants will be able to apply for funding of 40%-80% depending on the scale of the project, the size of the company and whether or not applicant will share the knowledge gained while developing the project with the rest of the industry. Other requirements include: budget between 500,000PLN ($120,000) and 20 million PLN ($4.7 million), and the maximum dev time of 3 years.

CD Projekt Red gave the following comment about this program:

“This is a program designed to increase the competitiveness of the Polish video game sector using R&D. We want to stimulate innovation in studios, which already have some experience, and encourage new companies to start working on more innovative projects.”
