Nintendo released new art work for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and if this looks familiar, don’t be surprised. It is a clear homage to the original art work that was in the first Legend of Zelda game, where Link looked out into the world from a high mountain top.
It is an iconic image and seeing that replicated here indicates a few things. One thing being that this game will be similar to the size/scope of the original Zelda regarding openness. From every bit of footage and discussion surrounding the game, Breath of the Wild is capturing the heart of the original Zelda; that game was open with little hand holding.
Another thing to consider is that we can get some insight to the game world; filled with large forests, tall mountains, wildlife flying in the sky and bright colors overtaking the game world. This art implies those things and that is nice to see.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is coming out in 2017 for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
