VR Headsets are tethered with many cables for the released iterations thus far; PS VR, Oculus and Vive. But if you removed the wires, it could help make it a pick-up-and-play experience. That is what the Pico Wireless VR headset is set out to accomplish, which was announced at CES 2017.
It will be able to on consoles, phones and computers. Based on the Snapdragon Processor and having expected features from other VR headsets, it looks to be a promising addition to the current wave of VR technology on the market. With plans for release in 2017, we will learn about supported games for the platform and pricing at a later date most likely.
I think it’s great VR is getting more headsets on the market, as it is a technology that needs to grow over time before it becomes an even stronger experience for many.
