[TECH-O-NATOR] Super ahead of its time: Nokia Morph concept
Although this is not an actual product, but a concept demonstrating the potential of nanotechnology, the execution and ideas behind it were very much ahead of its time. You’d be hard pressed to understand why Nokia didn’t see the tides coming when Apple released the first iPhone, but they were on top of the world during this period, so some ego was expected to be had. Still, one shouldn’t dismiss their ambitions due to mismanagement with things that we now take for granted on foldable phones and detachable accessories.
What makes it cool?
The unique tri-folding and wrist watch form factor and the ways it interacts with the environment.
Is it also useful?
We can’t know for sure given that this was a concept and not an actual product, but a lot of the same ideas have now made it into mainstream consumer products.
Are there any caveats?
Yes, it’s a concept device and some aspects are still not possible with current technology.
Where can I get my hands on one?
You can’t. This is not an actual product, unfortunately.
Are there any alternatives?
Nope, even the Motorola rollable one is a concept device at the moment.
