South Park: The Fractured But Whole will have playable Female Main Character Options
South Park has a lot of options for character creation, with the Stick of Truth having a ton of customization abilities for your player character. This will be returning in The Fractured But Whole but with a new feature; a playable female character option.
This was something that came up during Stick of Truth’s development and Matt & Trey Parker were considering this for the title but were against it.
Said Matt Stone in a delightful interview with Entertainment Weekly:
In Stick of Truth we got halfway through the game, and we had narratively come up with the big Girls’ Quest halfway through it. [The Girls] were a faction in the fantasy world. And then someone’s like, “What if you want to be a girl?” Narratively, it didn’t work. We’d have to sh– can the whole game. So we just left it the way it was. This time, we obviously wanted to add that.
With the plot issues out of the way, they could offer a female character option for players in this new title. Considering how this changes up the dynamics with the main characters (Kyle, Cartman, Stan & Kenny), this should be very interesting to see unfold as more information comes out on the title.
A Fractured But Whole is releasing this Fall on PS4, Xbox One and PC, with a port of Stick of Truth releasing on PS4 & Xbox One in the future.
