Digital Foundry Retro: NES Classic Mini – The Enthusiast’s Review
One question that has come up since the release of Nintendo’s hard to find NES Mini is how well does it emulate classic Nintendo games? I mean, reports indicate it’s much better compared to the Wii U Virtual Console service but what about other NES devices? There are many versions of the NES both officially produced by Nintendo and third party manufactures that support NES games.
Digital Foundry goes on another Retro tour and instead of a classic game, they look at an old-school system!
And now for something completely different! DF Retro tests out the hugely popular NES Classic Mini. Does the quality of the emulation and the choice of games hold up for the most hardcore NES enthusiast? John has all the answers.
This video was well-put together, informative and shows you about the many versions of the NES on the market place. If you heavily enjoy playing retro classics and want to get the best NES console, consider watching the above video for your answer!

The Sonic Community is known to produce quality content and if you followed prior coverage of the Sonic series on 3WIREL, you can see some of the talented people in the community through interviews and general coverage. I love interacting with the community and it’s great seeing others highlight promising projects.
Megapi Central was able to spend some time with the creator of the promising game pitch ‘Sonic Freedom’ blending 2D Sonic action with hand-drawn animation, showing very impressive results. While the teaser put out is just a video pitch, learning about the future of the project and more is great. You can watch the full video interview above this text.

Ys Origin Information: New Trailer, PS4 Release in Feb, PS Vita Release Pushed Back to May
News came out today for the upcoming release Ys Origin for the PS4 and PS Vita platforms. This remastered release of the classic Ys Origin is coming out on consoles and many are excited to play the game. Some story content can be seen in the recently released trailer you can watch above this text. But some interesting news came out recently about the title.
Hi, fellow PlayStation enthusiasts! It’s Jessica from DotEmu. I hope you’re ready to discover (or rediscover) Ys Origin on your PS4, because it launches in about two weeks! You’ll finally be able to experience this epic action-RPG ten years after its original release, with additional enhancements and brand-new features. The biggest changes we made were to optimize the visuals and effects, and also improve the UI and menus so that players can enjoy the full HD widescreen experience. Moreover, you’ll be able to enjoy online leaderboards, Trophies, and new languages for the first time ever. It was hard work, and we’re really excited for the release!
At PlayStation Experience we announced a PS Vita release date, but we’re going to invest more time on this version to give you the most enjoyable experience. That’s why we’ve decided to change the release date of the PS Vita version to May 30. Get ready to grab your PS4 copy on February 21! And Vita players, thanks for your patience — the game is coming soon! We’re 100% focused on it.
While it is launching this month for the PS4, the PS Vita version needs some more time. While the wait is a bit long (a full month), I’m glad the Vita release is still happening. Looking forward to adventuring though the world of Ys in May personally! As further information releases, we will continue covering Ys and other PlayStation related content on 3WIREL.

Accel World vs. Sword Art Online – PS Vita Gameplay
Sword Art Online is linking up to another world with the incoming release of Accel World vs. Sword Art Online. Developed by the same team behind SAO: Lost Song on the PS4 & PS Vita, they are taking mechancis from that title and using them in interesting ways.
The above gameplay video indicates that the gameplay systems from Lost Song are largely intact but a bit of a drop in frame rate and visual fidelity is noticeable. My guess is that similar to Hollow Realization, the main version for the title is the PS4 release and they had to downgrade a lot to get it running on Vita. At the very least though, it is more stable compared to early Vita footage of Hollow Realization.
