The official Tomb Raider twitter announced that main writer for the reboot series (consisting of Tomb Raider (2013) and Rise of the Tomb Raider) is leaving the writing team as the main writer for the series. She gave the following tweet in response to this announcement.
So, I'm packing up my climbing axe plus a little venison jerky for the road, and bidding a fond farewell to Lara. Onwards to new adventures!

She is leaving the team with excitement and no ill-will with nether Crystal Dynamics nor Square Enix. I feel this is good news, as she can continue working on other projects in the future. I personally didn’t enjoy her story in Tomb Raider 2013 but I feel that is from different visions between her writing and what the studio wanted to accomplish with their take on the story. Making stories for video games must be difficult but I have respect for those who try hard in the field.
We will report on future Tomb Raider and Square Enix news in the future, so stay tuned.
