Mass Effect Andromeda: Switch Version Not Likely But Could Happen Later
Bioware is releasing the upcoming title Mass Effect Andromeda for the PS4, Xbox One and PC in the Spring of this year but many are wondering this space adventure will sour to the Nintendo Switch as well. Mass Effect had a short time having a Nintendo home through a later Mass Effect 3 port on the Wii U (made by the same developers that would later make Twilight Princess HD) but the other games in the series never made their way over to Wii U.
When asked about a possible Switch version, Bioware and EG gave the following response.
“Yeah, not right now, no,” he said about a Switch version of Andromeda. “We’re not planning on it. If the Switch launches and everyone’s just yammering for Mass Effect, who knows. We never want to close doors like that.”
While this is not an outright ‘no’, this does confirm that Mass Effect’s latest installment will not release with the other versions day-one, it might indicate Andromeda will see release on the Switch if there is enough demand for that version. Good to hear EA commenting on this question before the system’s presentation on Jan. 12th and we will be reporting on Switch news as it releases.
