Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World (Nintendo 3DS) – Gameplay Footage

The Wii U Yarn-filled adventure is unraveling on to the Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS very soon, so Nintendo recently put out a lengthy gameplay video showing the title with direct-feed footage. One thing needs to be pointed out first; the game will run at 30FPS on the basic Nintendo 3DS systems (3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS) while it will run at 60FPS on the New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL. This needs to be clarified, as frame rates have an impact on gameplay.
Moving on to the footage, the game still looks quite nice on the 3DS; character models still look great and the animations look similar to the Wii U version. Some details are removed to ensure stable performance (when walking over specific objects, it doesn’t press down anymore) but the game retains it’s strong art direction on 3DS.
You can see footage of basic gameplay, hints toward a new map system (mirroring the New Super Mario Brothers games; the original had a semi-open 3D map you could run around in not unlike 3D World before jumping into stages), and some footage of the Poochy levels.

New Nintendo 3DS is NOT a literal new Nintendo 3DS but rather the name of a special 3DS Model that offers better 3D support, stronger CPU and C-Stick Nub.
