Kingdom Hearts 0.2 (KH2.8 HD Collection) Frame Rate Test – PS4 vs. PS4 Pro

It was stated before launch that KH2.8 would be supporting the PS4 Pro and many wondered how. The game contains a special game called 0.2 Fragmentary Passage which is a demo of sorts for Kingdom Hearts 3. Being the first ‘taste’ of the long awaited KH3, it runs on the Unreal Engine 4. Considering all of this, how does it run across both PS4 and PS4 Pro?
On the base PS4, it runs at a almost locked 30FPS, ensuring it feels steady and right even when a lot of is happening on screen. The more impressive element is how the game has an unlocked frame rate on PS4 Pro, giving the game a frame rate closer to 40-50FPS that sadly fluctuates across the game. One portion the game could run at a locked 50 FPS but another can drop to a sub-40FPS. There is no option to lock the frame rate on the PS4 Pro, so if that bothers you, there is no current fix for that issue.
But it is impressive the game comes very close to hitting a high frame rate; indicates that through further development, Square Enix could possibly hit a high frame rate for the final release for Kingdom Hearts 3.
