Fallout 4 is one of the biggest games publisher Bethesda released in 2015. It offered a lot of content, expanded the games world through DLC releases and recently is pushing for stronger visuals through supporting PS4 Pro hardware. The original released suffered from frame rate issues and some muddled texture work on consoles but the studio behind the project is set on improving the game visually.

We compare the graphics of Fallout 4 on PS4 and PS4 Pro in 4K mode. Fallout 4 got PS4 Pro support with patch 1.9 / 1.14. The PS4 Pro version now runs at 1440p with enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs as well as enhanced godrays. We show each of the improvements in detail, especially the improved draw distance makes a huge difference.

Tested and captured by Candyland, we see the PS4 and PS4 Pro get compared after a big update released for both platforms. The end result? The PS4 Pro version runs at not only a higher resolution but supports lots of new visual features that enhanced the presentation across the entire game. It’s a great upgrade and hopefully even more publishers/developers revisit older titles and give them PS4 Pro support in the near future.
