Nintendo 64 Anthology Book Releasing at Funstock Retro for 44 Euros
Literature based on video game is something always promising, as it shares some insight onto different aspects of the industries history. Reading about the grand battle between Nintendo and SEGA, learning about the origins of Nintendo as a games publisher/developer and even seeing the Blue Blur venture off into his own comic book series; it is just another avenue in respect and love for gaming can be found.
The Nintendo 64 Anthology is the book made for a generation of 90’s gamers.
Written by Matt Manent, it provides the most comprehensive look at the much-loved Nintendo 64. Cramming in over 400 pages of facts, game reviews and interviews, it also tells the console’s story – chronicling it’s seven-year journey from development right through to it finally being retired.
What’s included:
All 388 games reviewed – including detailed information such as each title’s release date, developer, publisher, genre, rarity, and a rating out of five (includes full-page reviews of all the classics like GoldenEye, Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie!).
A huge array of content spanning cancelled games, accessories, collectors editions, and, of course, every Nintendo 64 version and bundle.
Interviews with the people involved at the time: Martin Hollis (Rare – GoldenEye) and Eric Caen (Titus – Superman; acknowledged as one of the machine’s worst games)
A collector’s guide section outlining all the games released in each territory (Japan, North America, Europe, and Australia) alongside checkboxes for collectors to mark the games they own and those they don’t.
A massive book on the history of the Nintendo 64 is being produced and as you can read above, it will feature a wealth of content. I highly recommend you check this out, more so if you love gaming history or the Nintendo 64 era of gaming.
General Manager of FunstockRetro.co.uk, Andy Pearson said:
“For those who grew up playing on the N64, this book is the ultimate gift. Covering every aspect of the console, from its games right through to its hardware, it has been assembled with all the care and attention you’d hope for as a fan. It’s the perfect addition to any N64 collection.”
The Nintendo 64 Anthology book is available to pre-order exclusively at Europe’s Number One Retro Gaming Destination, FunstockRetro.co.uk now at just £44.99 here!

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Possibly Coming to Switch? – Listing Appears on Google Fact Sheet
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is currently out on various systems including PS3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, PS4 and very soon making an appearance on PC & Xbox One. But the Marvel & Capcom crew might be switching things up on Nintendo’s latest console, as a Google Fact Sheet Listing indicates that it might release on the Nintendo Switch.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 may be making an appearance on Nintendo Switch, according to a recent Google fact sheet listing. Previously, Capcom announced the game would be ported to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, followed by an eventual release for the PC on March 7th.
But if this description box serves as any indication, Nintendo Switch owners will eventually get Marvel as well. Check out the description box on the right. So far, Ultra Street Fighter 2 is the only title confirmed for the console. Bringing the game to the Switch could offer some positive benefits for the FGC, namely tournament organizers. Investing in consoles whenever a new tournament standard is established can get costly. Assuming the Switch were to become a tournament standard, users could bring their own device and organizers would only need to invest in docks.
This is good news if it does happen but like all Switch reports, I must say the following: Don‘t take this as an confirmation or fact until Nintendo/Capcom/Marvel gives an official announcement. If the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch, Capcom/Marvel/Nintendo will give an official announcement when the time is right.

The Lego Batman Movie Review – Master Building Across Gotham City
Who doesn’t love LEGO? They are lovely little blocks you snap together to create anything your mind comes up with and are filled with personality. The year 2014 saw the release of a film called The LEGO Movie that was far better then it had any right to be. Offering a charming story presenting the core theme of why LEGO’s are so important, it was a wonderful experience many loved.
This started a new series of movies from WB Animation Studios, with them producing two films this year. The first of the two films releasing is The LEGO Batman Movie and by using LEGO Movie’s take on Batman as the staring role, we take a LEGO-ized tour through Gotham City. Does Batman master build his way to the hearts of fans and young audiences alike? Or does his creations crumble under heavy expectations?

The PlayStation Vita Celebrates It’s Fifth Birthday in North America
If you have been reading content we have produced on 3WIREL for the past year or so, a good deal of games we cover is based on the PS Vita platform. It is a handheld I personally highly respect and use daily since I picked up my own Vita May 30th 2014.
Offering some quality adventures through hundreds of software, I feel the PS Vita is a platform that is something every gamer can enjoy. I talked at length about the PS Vita on 3WIREL before, but I just wanted to take some time to honor the system’s fifth birthday in North America. It launched with over 20 games at 249.99$, winning the hearts of many fans of portable gaming despite clear issues with memory storage and other issues post launch.
Nitro Rad: Kao the Kangaroo – Round 2 (Video)
3D Platformers are quite interesting, as there are a few that many don’t know about but are still decent experiences. A little known series known as ‘Kao the Kangaroo’ released originally on the Dreamcast but later got a sequel called ‘Round 2’. It released on the PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, Xbox and PlayStation Portable (via ‘Kao Challengers’) setting out to offer a more rewarding experience over the original game.
Nitro Rad, a YouTube content creator known for giving attention to platformers of all kinds, is currently having a marathon for the Kao series. The latest video is his review for Kao 2 and you can watch it above this text. Watching it was a great experience and showed me a franchise I honestly never even heard about before.
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: New 3DS Themes Release
While Wii U and Switch owners will be enjoying Breath of the Wild on March 3rd, 3DS owners are stuck with nothing…..however they can get Breath of the Wild-like content on handheld. Nintendo released special themes you can purchase for the system, with one of them having music from the game. It is a great theme and I recommend giving the video a watch.

PlayStation Now: Support for PS3, PS Vita/PS TV, and More Being Dropped August 2017
PlayStation Now has been a successful platform for Sony with it working across many platforms under the Sony family tree. While it has issues, the service is worthwhile to use and from personal experience, I highly enjoyed my limited time with it. But I would advise not paying for your subscription to use it on your PlayStation 3 or PS Vita in August, as Sony announced the following today.
On August 15, 2017, we will be discontinuing the service on the following devices:
- PlayStation 3
- PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV
- All 2013, 2014, 2015 Sony Bravia TV models
- All Sony Blu-ray player models
- All Samsung TV models
Additionally, 2016 models of Sony Bravia TVs will be discontinued on April 1, 2017.
After thoughtful consideration, we decided to shift our focus and resources to PS4 and Windows PC to further develop and improve the user experience on these two devices. This move puts us in the best position to grow the service even further. If you use any of the above devices, we want to give our heartfelt thanks for your support, and we hope you’ll continue with us. Remember that all of your PS Now cloud game saves can easily be accessed on both PS4 and Windows PC.
To focus on the PlayStation 4/PC versions of PlayStation Now, support on older Legacy hardware is being axed. This is a shame, considering the PlayStation Vita works wonderfully with PS Now. But you can still use it until the cut-off date that is August 15th, 2017.
