Breath of the Wild Amiibos: Functionality Detailed & Explained (Blunty)
Breath of the Wild has it’s own set of Amiibo and you can get them when the title launches March 3rd. But what do they do? Is the functionality worthwhile? YouTube content creator Blunty explains what each amiibo does, as it was revealed recently the full usage for every amiibo.
The 5 new Zelda themed Amiibo that come out with Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, AND the pre-existing Smash bros Zelda Amiibo have now had their official compatibility with the game detailed.
If you want to see what each amiibo does, consider watching the above video to find out!
Nintendo Switch – Joy Con Desyncing Issues Tested (GameXplain)
Reports have been releasing from press outlets that the Switch is having an issue maintaining a sync with the Left Joy Con controller. This is an issue that varies from person to person, but GameXplain looked into the issue. There finds can be found in the above video but what they discovered is that if you cover the Joy Con completely, it negates some of the Bluetooth Signal being sent to the Switch Unit.
This results in unresponsive controls and depending on how bad the situation is, it can drastically effect gameplay. If you are playing the Switch in portable mode with the Joy Cons locked into the system or if you are close to the console, these issues shouldn’t be present much. But it’s good seeing this be tested, as hopefully a more solid fix can be found or patched into the OS of the Switch at launch.
Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition Announced – Retail Collectors Release (PS4/Vita/Wii U)
Axiom Verge was one of last year’s best indie titles through offering an experience many gamers have been missing out on for a long time. Offering a Metroid-styled adventure, it was a fun experience that many enjoyed. But with it only having a digital release, many were hoping a retail version would surface at some point in the future.
BadLand Games announced that from working with Thomas Happ Games, a retail edition of Axiom Verge called Multiverse Edition is coming out soon. For those wondering about the title, we will be reviewing it on 3WIREL in the near future, so stay tuned for any future updates/news on Axiom Verge!
Axiom Verge landed on Wii U last year as an eShop download. Later this year, the game will be getting the physical treatment. Thomas Happ Games is partnering with BadLand Indie on Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition.
Buyers will receive a copy of the game, a deluxe booklet with developer commentary and art, double-sided poster, and an exclusive making-of documentary on DVD. Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition is slated for Q2. It will be priced at $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99.

Fur-Fun: A SidAlpha Report
We spent some time diving into the issues surrounding a game called Fur-Fun in the past but further issues have been creeping up. SidAlpha thankfully details everything in a well-produced video which you can find above this text. He offers quality content and dives into major issues surrounding Steam, with a more known case being his reports on Digital Homicide vs. Jim Sterling.
Fur-Fun, a coin collecting platformer by Doky Dalas and it’s production has been thrown into the maelstrom of controversy. From unpaid developers to potentially illegal distribution of assets to DMCA take downs. This one seems to be the complete package.
Sid Alpha even wrote a review on the title which you can check out by clicking the following link. One quote from the review sums it up though sadly.
With numerous crashes, bugs, and glitches, this game is nowhere NEAR ready despite the apparent assumption that it is nearly completed by the Developer.
The game crashed for me 3 times in less than an hour. I fell through the map 7 times. I got hung up on invisible walls countless times. This isn’t a game. It is an abomination. Avoid at all costs.
It’s a shame to hear stories like these but hopefully the developer is hearing all the feedback and will improve upon Fur-Fun in the future. Stay tuned for further updates.
Final Fantasy XV – PS4 Pro Patch 1.05 Tested (Digital Foundry)
FFXV was promised a major PS4 Pro patch which offered higher frame rates and smoother gameplay but upon testing, it offers some interesting results. Digital Foundry drives across the open worlds yet again and discovers that an unlocked frame rate isn’t the best way to playthrough FFXV.
This isn’t good. Final Fantasy 15’s new PS4 Pro patch lets frame-rates go unlocked while in the ‘lite’ mode – but the game simply doesn’t hit 60fps as promised by the patch notes. Instead, it runs between 30-50fps. John explains the problems with this approach.
With it bouncing between 30-50FPS, frame-pacing is a bigger issue compared to before and regarding stable performance, the PS4 Pro is not the best option anymore. Digital Foundry recommends you play either the game on base PS4 (with frame pacing but not as bad) or on the Xbox One (with lower image quality but with a more stable frame rate + no frame pacing at all).
It’s a shame to see the PS4 Pro not offer the best experience but maybe upon further updates, the Pro version of FFXV will play and look even better.
Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion (PS2 Build) – PtoPOnline
PtoPOnline released a video recently showing off how Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion runs on the PlayStation 2, as a version was planed for that console in addition to the main PSP release.
A special PS2 build of the unreleased PSP title, running on PS2 Development Hardware only at this point. No sound plays during this build.
PS2 ports of various PSP games are common, as even Sony made PS2 versions of some releases like Secret Agent Clank and Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier. It’s always interesting seeing the history of game development and this version of EST: Oblivion is just another part of gaming history we can learn about.
King of Fighters 2002, AC Rogue and More Come to Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility
The Xbox One continues to get more 360 games playable thanks to the team working on the 360 Backward Compatibility program. The latest additions to the line up can be found below.
- Gyromancer
- Moon Diver
- Space Invaders Infinity Gene
- The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match
- Assassin’s Creed Rogue
- Borderlands 2
Borderlands 2 is a bit more noteworthy, considering that is not only one of the ‘free’ games of the month but also from the fact a ‘Remastered’ version exists for the title. It shows that remastered games aren’t off limits for the BC program, giving players options for how they want to play their games.

Samurai Jack (Season Five) – One vs. Many Teaser Clip
Jack is slashing his way onto Adult Swim in a brand new season of the iconic Cartoon Network show Samurai Jack. This will be a bit more mature but will retain the heart of the original series. To get fans excited for the seasons launch this March, Adult Swim put out a new clip showing a mysterious figure fighting robots.
It’s a great looking action scene and shows how the art style heavily mirrors the one seen in the original show. We will report more on this (including reviews of episodes as they come out) as further information releases.
LEGO City Undercover (PS4/Xbox One/Switch/PC) – Co-Op Trailer & April Release
LEGO City Undercover is coming out quite soon for various platforms, but we didn’t know when exactly it would release. A new trailer released today to answer this question and it is now confirmed to be launching on April 4th across all platforms. In addition, co-op support was confirmed for all versions which means one of the more glaring issues from the Wii U release is getting fixed.
We also see new costumes for Chase to don across his undercover adventure when compared to the Wii U release but something worth noting is that the Switch version will contain all the Wii U Exclusive bits of Nintendo-themed content. So keep a sharp eye out during your adventure if you are playing this on the Nintendo Switch.
Jim Sterling v. Digital Homicide Case Comes to Close + Teaser for Next Jimquisition
For a long time Jim Sterling, gaming critic and former writer for Destructoid, has been battling indie studio Digital Homicide after being threatened with a lawsuit. This has been on-going for a full year and just recently has been put to rest. Jim gave an official statement that you can check out here but below is a short quote from his post.
After a year of lingering and a cavalcade of increasingly exasperating amendments, it is a distinct personal pleasure to finally be able to say that the lawsuit “James Romine v. James Stanton” has been dismissed with prejudice following discussions between my lawyer Bradley Hartman and the plaintiff James Romine.
I will not go over the entirety of the lawsuit or its associated ordeal in this statement. There are a lot of things to talk about but right now I want to take a moment to simply respond to the immediate news.
This is great news and hopefully this will stop studios making asset flips from harassing critics who are voicing their opinion. If you noticed, this posted opened with a video. Jim released this today giving the date 2/27/16. That is when Jimquisitions normally go up, meaning that a full episode dedicated to his battle with Digital Homicide is happening. We will learn more about what happened hopefully and we will report on whatever is stated in the video once it goes live next week (as of this writing).
